patron donations, city funding, and generous anonymous donors fund the new bozeman public library

The new Bozeman Public Library financial shortfall will be paid, announced the Bozeman Public Library Foundation yesterday at a early afternoon press conference at the Friends of the Library Wild Joe's Coffee and Book Shop in the new library. A private anonymous donor has stepped up once again to donate $880,000, the amount needed to pay off what looks to be the remaining tab on the $18.2 million project. The donor has asked that this most recent contribution be seen as a tribute to the former Foundation Director, Wendy Bay Lewis.

Of the $18.2 million, private money (from donors large and small) accounts for $6.73 million (more than 36%). Way to go Bozeman! Thank you to everyone who has contributed time and/or funding to this deserving civic project. Now the focus can shift from bricks and mortar to books, programs, outreach, staffing, and other materials to fill the beautiful 52,000 square foot community center. Anyone interested in making a contribution can mail in this form and/or call the Foundation at (406)582-2425.

Let's turn the page into next exciting chapter of the Bozeman Public Library.

What wonderful news! It makes me want to go back and work there again! Now the library staff can focus on what really needs to get done! Hope you're having a wonderful summer! You should definitely have a mud stand at Sweet Pea....ah, Sweet Pea! I'm homesick!
